Air France has significantly expanded its Caribbean network in recent years, making it one of the more comfortable options for travelling from Poland to Punta Cana.

For a longer layover, it may even be worth considering an overnight stay and a short city break in Spain before continuing to the Dominican Republic. Sometimes this type of itinerary is not only cheaper, but simply more enjoyable as well.
Other Flights to the Dominican Republic from Europe
In addition to routes via Frankfurt, Paris, and Madrid, there are also other connections from Europe to the Dominican Republic. Depending on the season, travel dates, and departure city, it is also worth checking flights:
- via Amsterdam with KLM,
- via Zurich with Edelweiss,
- via London Gatwick with British Airways or TUI,
- via Brussels with TUI fly Belgium,
- via Milan with Neos.
Some of these connections operate seasonally and may not always appear immediately in the most popular flight search engines. For this reason, it is worth checking more than one platform.
In addition to Skyscanner or eSky, we also recommend checking:
- Google Flights,
- the official websites of airlines,
- package flights available through travel agencies,
- less obvious connections from Germany, France, and Spain.
The price difference can sometimes exceed PLN 1,000 (approximately USD 260) per person. For two or three travellers, this becomes a significant amount that is much more enjoyable to spend once you arrive, for example on a better hotel, a rental car, or a few additional days of your stay.
Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, or La Romana: Which Airport Should You Choose?
Most people travelling to the Dominican Republic choose Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), the country’s main tourist airport. It is the most convenient option for travellers planning to stay in Punta Cana, Bávaro, Cap Cana, or Uvero Alto.
However, if you are planning a stay in or around:
- Bayahibe,
- Dominicus,
- Casa de Campo,
- La Romana,
it may be worth considering a flight to La Romana International Airport (LRM). This airport may be more convenient from a logistical perspective if your destination is in the south-eastern part of the island rather than the resort area of Punta Cana.
Flights to La Romana are easiest to find from cities such as:
- Milan,
- Madrid,
- Frankfurt.
Santo Domingo (SDQ) is also a good option, especially for travellers planning to explore a larger part of the island or enjoy a more local stay outside the main resorts. This airport is also suitable if you want to combine your trip to the Dominican Republic with a road trip around the country rather than staying in just one region.

- checking flights to both Punta Cana and Santo Domingo,

The cheapest flights to the Dominican Republic often appear outside the most popular holiday periods. If you can move your travel dates by a few days, the difference in price can be significant.
